Park Avenue apartments such as this one were designed for gracious living. This large living room is divided by a circular 18th-century American antique table and is furnished with an array of 18th- and 19th-century furniture and accessories. A 16-by-25-foot colorful antique Bakhtiari Persian rug ties the room into one elegant space for formal entertainment. The painted Pompeii red bedroom hallway, with an antique mirror and amusing cartouche details, adds character and elegance to an otherwise boring space. The bedroom is painted with neutral subtle cream color and features an oversized headboard, custom night tables, and an antique Biedermeier desk, a perfect mixture of period and contemporary styles.
